Main Street will be the MAIN STAGE and the festive decorations of our historic building will beome the back-drop for this years exciting and new entertainment entitled -

"The Magical Musical Festival" !

Over 10 musical bands will perform a variety of live music along Main Street all evening long!

 

From Swing, to country, to rock, jazz, bluegrass and more -  the sights and sounds of the holiday's will fill the evening sky delighting people of all ages as you and your family stroll down Main Street.


RIVER CITY BIG BAND - Flower Shop Performance area

The River City Big Band plays big band jazz and dance music including ballads, swing, Latin, polkas, waltzes. The band features arrangements by Lenny Niehaus, Sammy Nestico, Louis Belson and Dave Wolpe as well as local music writers and arrangers Jim Mahaffey and Dale Schultz.

 

Murph Davis and Richard Wallace formed the band in 2001 with seventeen pieces and three vocalists.  The band plays a standing date at the Blue Star Micro Brewery on the second Tuesday of every month to large and enthusiastic crowds.

 

Joan Carroll, Steve Kile and Patsy Zehring provide vocals for the group.  Joan has recently recorded with the Terry Gibbs group in Los Angeles. Patsy has sung in various national venues. Steve is a former Air Force musician and vocalist.

Chasing Daylight is a community of artists who share a passion for joining

 with people on life’s journey through the expression of music.

They represent a fusion of diverse interests and eras with a singular

 vision for moving beyond mere performance towards sharing their lives with people.

 

The band is comprised of John Jones, Staci Loalbo,

 Brian Loggins, Damon Samudio, Garrett Loggins, Rey Lopez & Mike Spell

  all of who have been together in various combinations since 2002.

 

The bands acoustic-based rock endeavors to communicate the wonde

r and hope they have discovered and discovering as they journey through life.

From individual mistakes, shortcomings and fumbles, they have the story of life is

 never over and they beckon you to join them as they are pursuing understanding, seeking wisdom

 - Chasing Daylight!

The Lone Star Christmas Band is a local band that performs traditional Christmas music in the classical genre.  It's members have experience performing in countries all around the world.  Our goal this Christmas season is to share a message of happiness, peace and hope to others through our music.  Our Band is composed of the following members:

About Robin Lees

Robin has over 20 years of musical experience in various genre's of music. She majored in voice performance at Florida State University, studied classical voice with faculty at the North Carolina School of Arts, and performed with Atlanta and Winston-Salem Symphony's.

Robin's Praise and Worship ministry spans 12 years and regularly leads worship in San Antonio and across the country. She is a frequent Praise and Worship leader on KHCE'S TBN "Praise The Lord" program, as well as, television co-host for KHCE's "Joy In Our Town".

Robin's international experience includes singing at the wedding and reception of the eldest son of Louie Giscard d'Estaing, former President of France; a South India tour in Bangalore sponsored by the Evangelical Free Church of India and for Ravi Zacharias' India Ministry in Chennai (Madras); Campus Crusade for Christ tour in France; two tours at the 2005 World Expo in Japan performing at the American Pavilion, as well as, the Habitat for Humanity Pavilion; and 2006 ministry trip to Israel working with "Tents of Mercy", "Esther house" and meeting with MBS personnel who work with Jews immigrating from other nations.

Robin spent 10 years writing music for and singing with Second Chance, a contemporary Christian band. You will see them under shoutlife. MegandJean. They are incredible people and incredible musicians. i have the distinct pleasure of having an on going writing relationship with Jean, who has been very prolific on her own. As 2nd Chance, they have released two singles and produced three albums with an independent distributor, which has received play on Christian radio stations throughout the country. She also performed for three years with the band "Robin and The Reason".

Robin's first CD "Love Jesus" and "We Will Stand" video is available in various Christian stores and shops. Her second CD "Don't Walk Away" was release before Christmas 2004 and her latest CD "Breathe On Me" is a companion to the book "The Breath of God" by Lori Lynne up for release in the fall of 2006.

Her greatest achievement, however, is being wife to Harry and mother of sons, Jourdan and Hunter.

AfterDallas is a group of four friends from San Antonio who share a common love for music. With influences across the board in Rock n Roll, Blues, Soul, and even Texas (that’s right, Texas) these 4 piece has a strong desire to share their love of music with as many people as possible. With so many bands spreading messages of sadness, depression, and heartbreak, AfterDallas strives to spread a message of a love for life, happiness, and of an overall good time.

The Texas Thunder Cloggers are an enthusiastic, fast-stepping dance team based in San Antonio, Texas.

 We are composed of both male and female dancers who bring a variety of

clogging styles and personalities to the center stage.

 

Our public appearances have included the Winedale Festival, the annual San Antonio Cloggers' Showcase,

 various shows sponsored by the San Antonio Dance Umbrella (S.A.D.U.), and a television segment for Channel 9

 Fox Television News and Kens5 Great Day San Antonio.  We are a professional, non-profit 501 (c)(3)

 organization that primarily operates on donations, and we would appreciate being considered

 as part of your evening's entertainment schedule.  Your guests will enjoy both traditional

and modern styles of clog dancing, including choreographed routines as well as an old-fashioned hoedown.

Come see these exciting polkateers perform inquaint OIe Town! They are a dance group of 20consisting of children ages 9-17 and perform at different events in and around the S. A. area.  The organization has been around for at least 38 years.  We perform a 30-45 minute show dancing to different German Polkas.  We also have an audience participation dance to the Chicken Dance.  So get ready fr some real authentic German fun!!!

Steven O. gets you home every weekday afternoon. Tune in to the “5 at 5” countdown each weekday from 3P – 7P. He features 5 songs at 5 o’clock with a common “theme” from number 5 to number 1 on KONO 101.1! Steven O. has been a member of the KONO family for over 10 years.

 

Steven O. started at KONO at age 19. From there he went to work in Kansas City, San Diego, and Los Angeles. He has emceed hundreds of events in South Texas and you've probably heard him on hundreds of radio and T.V. commericals.

 

In 2006 Steven O. was awarded the SAMYS Radio Personality of the Year Award from the San Antonio Media Alliance, a Chapter of AWRT.

Born in Venezuela, Rita Verreos moved to San Francisco when she was eight years old.

Rita Verreos  attended the University of California, Berkeley, before transferring to the University of

 California, Los Angeles.

Rita Verreos graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Italian and French Literature.

Rita Verreos has traveled extensively through Central and South America, the Caribbean and Europe.

 After college, she moved to Mexico City where she lived for 11 years with her then husband and

 two children.

Rita Verreos was a contestant in the Miss Venezuela pageant and walked the fashion runways

 of Venezuela, Mexico and Los Angeles. In 1990, she appeared in the film "Marked for Death."

In 2003,

Rita Verreos moved to Texas  She currently juggles being a  mom with working part-time on

her business as an image consultant who specializes in coaching girls for the Miss Texas,

Miss California and Miss USA Pageants.

Rita Verreos is also a television spokesperson for a local supermarket chain in

 San Antonio and Austin, Texas.

Rita Verreos enjoys playing with her children, cooking, listening to "world"

music, reading and writing in foreign languages.

Rita Verreos also enjoys playing basketball, football and walking.

She describes herself as persistent, tough on the outside…tender on the inside,

considerate and respectful.

Rita Verreos currently resides in San Antonio, Texas.
